Overview
Pivot Control is operated by Gregory Maendel. The app uses information only to provide irrigation monitoring, control, maps, farm sharing, settings backup, notifications, security, and service reliability. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Information we process
- Account information: Firebase user ID and, when you choose Google sign-in, your name and email address.
- Farm and pivot information: farm and pivot names, PLC connection configuration, pivot-center coordinates, equipment settings, notes, and shared-farm membership.
- Files and backups: JSON settings backups and their names, dates, and version metadata.
- Notifications and device information: Firebase installation and notification identifiers used to deliver requested alerts.
- Map and reliability information: Google Maps interaction, request, device, crash, and diagnostic information described by the Maps SDK for Android.
Pivot-center coordinates describe irrigation equipment, not the current location of the person using the app. Pivot Control does not request Android location permission for background tracking.
How information is used
We process this information to authenticate accounts; synchronize pivots and settings across devices; display maps and pivot geometry; support farm invitations and access controls; create and restore backups; deliver requested operational notifications; diagnose failures; prevent abuse; and maintain the service.
PLC communications
Live PLC reads and writes normally travel directly between your Android device and the PLC address you configure. Pivot Control does not route PLC command traffic through Firebase. Internet, mobile-carrier, router, VPN, or network administrators may process network metadata according to their own policies.
Service providers and disclosure
Google Firebase provides authentication, cloud database, file storage, hosting, and notifications. Google Maps Platform provides map imagery and mapping services. These providers process information for the app under their terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Farm sharing
When you accept or create a farm invitation, authorized members of that farm can access the shared farm and pivot configuration permitted by their role. Owners and administrators can revoke access. You can leave a shared farm from the app.
Retention and deletion
Cloud configuration and backup data is retained until you delete it, leave or are removed from a shared farm, an owner deletes the farm, or you delete your account. You can permanently delete the cloud account and associated data from Pivots → Cloud & backup → Delete cloud account. You may also use the web deletion instructions. Provider backups, security logs, or records required by law may remain for a limited period.
Security
Cloud traffic is encrypted in transit. Firebase Authentication and access-control rules protect cloud data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so operators should also secure PLC networks, credentials, routers, and Android devices.
Children
Pivot Control is an industrial and agricultural tool intended for adult operators. It is not directed to children and is not designed to collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or applicable requirements change. The effective date below will be updated when changes are published.
